Sugrue South Downs has been our passion project for more than two decades.
We farm five vineyards across East and West Sussex, the earliest planted in 2005 and 2006 on chalk soils. Made in small quantities, our sparkling wines are fermented in old oak barrels and typically aged for 5-to-10 years before release.
We also make still wines from the South Downs and the Crouch Valley in Essex – the most exciting emerging wine region in the world.
Critically regarded as some of England's very best, our wines have accrued a cult following among collectors, and can be found in the cellars of the world's finest restaurants, at Royal State Banquets, and on British Airways First Class.

WINEMAKER'S DINNERS
When we can steal some time away from the vineyards and the winery, there are few things we enjoy more than good food and wine in excellent company. Join us at a winemaker's dinner this autumn, where we’ll share stories behind the bottles and insights from over two decades of making wine.
