Join us for a Winemaker Masterclass exploring the philosophy, craft, and cellar secrets behind Sugrue South Downs. These intimate tasting evenings led by Dermot or Ana on the last Friday of the month include:

  • An in-depth tour of Bee Tree Vineyard and the winery
  • The rare opportunity to taste vins clairs from barrel, when available
  • A tutored tasting of sparkling and still wines, including library vintages
  • A taster of cheese from High Weald and charcuterie from Beal's Farm
  • Exclusive cellar door prices on bottles to takeaway
  • An intimate group experience limited to just 12 guests

MAKE AN EVENING OF IT

The Jolly Sportsman is an excellent gastropub with rooms just 5 minutes down the road from the winery.

A former Elizabethan manor house, Ockenden Manor is a luxurious hotel and spa overlooking Cuckfield Park.

The Grain Store is a beautiful, three-bedroom holiday home in Lewes set against rolling hills and big skies.

A little further away, there’s THE PIG-in the South Downs near Arundel – it's always a worthwhile treat.

How long is the Winemaker Tasting?

Approximately 2 hours. Please arrive promptly for a 5pm start.

Do you allow children to attend?

Unfortunately, our events are not suitable for under 18s.

What should I wear?

Dress comfortably, but make sure to wear suitable shoes and a warm layer.

Do you cater for allergies or dietaries?

Let us know if you have any allergies or dietary requirements at the point of booking.

Is the winery accessible?

Let us know if you have any mobility concerns, so that we can make necessary arrangements.

How to find us

Sugrue South Downs, Bee Tree Vineyard, South Road, Wivelsfield Green, RH17 7QS.

The gates will open automatically as you approach them. Drive down the track, past the livery stable and horse boxes, and you will find the winery at the very end of the track.

We are 10-15 minutes by taxi from Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill and Wivelsfield train stations.

Can you recommend a local taxi service?

Station Taxis – 01444 410 410. We recommend booking drop off and collection in advance.

Cancellations are subject to resale and rescheduling is subject to availability.
