CUVÉE BOZ BLANC DE BLANCS 2015
CUVÉE BOZ BLANC DE BLANCS 2015
Named after Dermot's dearly departed brother, Barry Ben Sugrue – affectionately known as "Boz" – this cuvée has a place close to our hearts. Made only in the best vintages and crafted with long cellar-ageing in mind, Cuvée Boz Blanc de Blancs is the ultimate expression of English Chardonnay on South Downs chalk.
The 2015 hails from Coldharbour Vineyard in West Sussex, planted in 2005 on chalk and flint soils. Vinified in stainless steel without any oak ageing, it shows remarkable clarity and freshness that shines through its flinty minerality and a long, toasty finish. At a decade old, this is at a deliciously mature and savoury stage of its development.

THE STORY BEHIND ‘CUVÉE BOZ'
Named after my dearly departed brother, Barry Ben Sugrue – affectionately known as "Boz" – this cuvée has a place close to our hearts. A spectacularly gifted individual, Boz was an ardent and accomplished man, bright as the crisp-white paper his razor-sharp pencil raised perfection upon. He lives on in our minds and in each bottle.

WINEMAKER'S NOTES
“I crafted this Blanc de Blancs with long cellar-ageing in mind, and I am delighted with the results: it is everything you would expect from English Blanc de Blancs – floral notes of white flowers and citrus, with precise and elegant fruit on the palate, but with a weight and textural complexity that is only possible to achieve with extended time on lees in the winery." Dermot Sugrue
AWARDS AND REVIEWS
"The nose is bright and fresh, offering a touch of green apple and lemon with a subtle saltiness. The palate has a wonderful energy, driven by its lemon brightness and deep chalkiness. Beautifully clear-cut with sprightly mousse, this wine will benefit from more bottle age. Pure, brisk, crisp and delicious." 93 Points, Anne Krebiehl MW, Vinous
FOOD PAIRING
One brilliant young sommelier put us onto stir-fried lobster noodles with Cuvée Boz Blanc de Blancs and we haven't stopped dreaming of it since. This wine loves anything from the sea – sushi, scallops, Dover sole – especially with an Asian influence. Soft cheeses will work nicely too.
